How are are neon signs created?

Genuine neon is made from glass tubes that are heated and bent to shape. The tubes are filled with different gases that will glow in colors of red, pink, yellow and blue.

The gas filled tubes react to an electric current from transformers that are attached. The illumination is controlled by circuits that cause the lights to strobe or flash in a particular pattern.
